Lifestyle - My May Favourite's

May favourites from the balm frat boy blush, Urban decay setting spray, miss sporty miaoww eyeliner

Hey lovelies,
It's that time again, Favourite's time this time I thought I would mix it up and share a mixture of fashion and beauty items I have been enjoying this month.

Starting with fashion if you follow me on Instagram, (which you totally should) you will of seen that I have been attempting to look cool and bloggerish by wearing either a choker or neckerchief on quite the regular basis, not sure if I carry it off but I like it so I'm sticking with it!

Next up beauty, the first of my fav's is an old love reignited in the form of Vera Wang's Hippy Princess, I bought this back last Summer and its just a perfect fresh n fruity summer scent which I am enjoying wearing again.

lastly on to makeup products a new addition to my collection is the Urban decay de - slick setting spray this is an item I will 100% be repurchasing as this little beauty is a total game changer it keeps my makeup in place all day without the dreaded afternoon shiny face, defo worth a try ladies if you haven't already. At the same time I bought the setting spray I also ordered The balms Frat boy blush, I already own a few the balm products that I think are amazing so was excited to add this pretty blush to my makeup stash, I have used it literally everyday since I bought it. You may know I am pretty rubbish at eyeliner as I have mentioned this a few times but since trying the Miss Sporty Miaoww eyeliner on the recommendation of  my friend Hayley from Haysparkle.com I am improving, and slowly getting to grips with winging out my eyeliner.

So there you have it my May favourite's I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if you enjoy using or wearing any of these bits.

Beauty - My current everyday makeup

Everyday makeup featuring Mac , Revlon , Soap & Glory, Makeup revolution and The Balm

Hey lovelies,
As the seasons slowly start to change I tend to change up my makeup routine, going for a slightly fresher look for day to day, like when I'm at work.

Face;
I always start my base with a primer and my current one I'm using is the One heck of a blot from soap & glory, I think this is a pretty good primer and does the job although I'm always on the look out for recommendations, so let me know if there is anything I should try. Next up foundation, and my holy grail from Revlon the Colorstay in oily/combination I love this stuff its easy to apply blends beautifully and covers what I need to cover. My current concealer is Maybelline Erasure eye this stuff is fab at hiding those pesky dark circles. For powder I use Gosh prime n set sorry I can't find a link for this but I got it in Superdrug last year.
On to Bronzer I use the bronzer shade from this makeup revolution set but again I can't find a link but I'm sure they probably do a similar palette. Now for blusher and highlight and I use one of my fav brands The balm,I love the Frat boy blush and the Mary Lou Manizer has to be my fav makeup item ever I bloody love it !!
To set my make up so it lasts all day I use a product I recently discovered the Urban decay de - slick setting spray, you can catch my recent review of it - here

The rest;

For my eye makeup I tend to keep it fairly simple on the day to day basis just washing one colour of my lids at the moment I love my Mac shadows especially All that glitters , I then sometimes add a little liner depending if I can be bothered but when I do I use this Miss sporty one as I find its quite easy to use for someone like me who's rubbish at eyeliner lol. Mascara I use my holy grail the Soap & Glory Hd mascara this is hands down my most favourite mascara and I will continue to re purchase it cause I love it. Then brows I'm lucky in the fact my brows don't need to much doing to them they are naturally dark and thick so I just use Rimmel brow this way in dark brown to tidy them up and fill in any little gaps.
Lastly lips my current go to is Mac's Brave a pretty mauve shade perfect for Spring/Summer.

So there you have it my current everyday makeup.
Let me know anything you think I would like in the comments.

Fashion - Feeling a bit sassy

Topshop bodysuit outfit with asos jeans and belt

Hey lovelies,
I have been after a bodysuit for a while and when I saw this little Topshop number it had to be mine. In this outfit I have styled it in what I thought was quite a 90's style and I must say I felt pretty damn Sassy......
The choker is a new neck accessory I'm trying out, I already love a necktie and I am now loving a choker  I will defo be adding another to my jewelry collection. I also added a brown lip and high ponytail to add to the 90's vibe.

Me and hubby had such a nice afternoon shooting these photos, getting out into the countryside, and I must admit I really like how these pictures turned out, Just shows that what you wear can make you feel good about yourself, so buying new clothes is good for you..... well that's what I'm sticking too anyway......

What do you think to this outfit? do you have an outfit that makes you feel Sassy?

Fashion - Asos Summer dress wishlist

Hey lovelies,
I have gone wishlist crazy just lately.........

Asos Summer dress wishlist

This time for Summer dresses, as you probably know if you are a regular reader I'm not really the floral dress type but I do like a dress in the Summer, here I've picked pieces that are practical for everyday, perfect for dressing up or down, in a nautical colour palette, that's right up my street.

My favourite has to be the cute navy pleated skirt dress, it would be perfect with a pair of sandals and a clutch for an evening or occasion or toughened up with converse and an over sized denim jacket thrown over the top in the day.......

I'm also a sucker for a stripe and I've picked 3 stripey beauties for this wishlist, you can't have to many stripes can you? they are my ultimate weakness and I already own many many striped things but who cares, gotta be done. I love them......

What do you think to my Summer dress selection?

Lifestyle - Yankee Candle Strawberry Shortcake Review

Yankee candle review strawberry shortcake

Hey lovelies,
today I have a little Yankee candle review for you, Strawberry shortcake from the simply home range, this range is stocked in Asda  where I picked this up for only £9. I seems the simply home range has the same quality as regular Yankee candles just at a slightly lower price, and that's all good with me cause I do love a bargain.

Now I love sweet foodie scents and this is no exception, with farm fresh strawberry mixed with sugary shortcake biscuit this is a sweet scent sent from heaven, and if that sounds up you're street, then you should defo pick up Strawberry Shortcake.

As you would expect from Yankee candle the scent soon filled my whole house, and lasted even after blowing out.

Have you tried the simply home range from Yankee?

Fashion - Tan & white for Summer with Bonessi ballerinas

Hey lovelies,
as you can see from these pictures it wasn't exactly Summer weather on the day we took these and it was windy, but you get the idea..... Tan still looks nice styled in a summer outfit you don't have to keep that Tan skirt in the wardrobe till Autumn.

And how gorgeous are these Tan & cream ballet shoes* from bonessi ballerinas now these are the most comfortable ballerinas ever they are crafted using the softest leather and have an amazing cushioned inner sole, so these beauties can be on you're feet all day without killing, like some ballet pumps, we've all had pairs of cheap shoes that not only break our feet but fall apart. So if you need a pair of stylish ballet shoes maybe for work its defo worth checking these guys out, they do several styles and colours.

I styled my tan skirt with a simple white tee instantly making it more summer appropriate and my neckerchief which my hubby says makes me look like and air hostess, but who cares, its FASHION in it!!

Tan skirt - Primark ( last year) white tee - Peacocks Neckerchief - Ebay shoes - c/o bonessiballerinas

What do you think of tan for Summer? let me know in the comments.

I'm not expecting to receive all these things by any means but they are just bits that I am liking right now.

asos topshop mac toofaced
The thing I am most desperate for is the handbag, think it will be perfect for my upcoming Glasgow trip, and why not a whole new outfit to go with it ie, Van's , jeans & body, haha
Makeup wise I love the chocolate palette it looks right up my street, the Mac mineralize skinfinish looks so pretty too!!

I guess I will have to wait and see if I am lucky enough to get any of these things, I'm sure to let you know.

What do you think to my wishlist?

Beauty - Urban Decay de-slick setting spray Review

Urban Decay setting spray review

Hey lovelies,
You may of read my recent Feel Unique haul if so you will no I picked up the Urban Decay de-slick setting spray amongst other things, whoops !!

Anyway I wasn't sure what to expect from this as I had heard it was good but how good can a spray really be at setting your makeup.....
AMAZING that's how good I absolutely bloody love this stuff and will 100% be re-purchasing it when I get low.

Now I suffer from the dreaded shine come early afternoon and often look in the mirror to see my makeup looking less then perfect despite priming and setting my makeup with powder, but not anymore I have been using this spray everyday during those warm few days we had while at work and coming home to find my makeup looking as fresh as it did in the morning.

I apply my makeup as normal then just spritz my face with 3 or 4 sprays and that's it....done makeup that stays put LOVE it.

If you haven't tried it I can't recommend enough, have you tried it?

Lifestyle - Red velvet choc chip cookie recipe

Hey lovelies,
I'm back with another recipe, this time with something even I can't pretend is healthy ! Red Velvet Chocolate chip cookies. OMG these are divine you have to try them, homemade cookies always taste better then shop bought and you know what you have put in them.

Ingredients:

  • 1 & 1/2 cups of plain flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup softened butter to room temp
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg room temp
  • 1tbs milk
  • 2 tbs red food colouring
  • 1 cup choc chips
Method
  1. Mix flour, cocoa & baking powder together in a bowl
  2. In your mixer beat the butter until creamy then add both sugars mixing for about a minute.
  3. Add the milk, egg and food colouring and continue to mix
  4. pour in dry ingredients to the wet and mix gently add more colouring now if you want the dough brighter.
  5. Cover the dough with cling and chill for at least an hour as its too sticky to work with
  6. Heat oven to 180C and line two baking sheets with baking parchment
  7. Make dough into balls and space out onto the trays I got 16 balls from the mixture
  8. Bake for bout 9 or 10 mins, once you remove from the oven press the dough balls gently with a fork to spread them out slightly and allow to cool for about 5 mins then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely

Super easy and mega tasty but they do require a little patience, something that was tricky for me but so worth the wait.

Let me know if you bake them!

Fashion - Pinafore for grownups!

Asos pinafore dress

Hey lovelies,
I am wearing a dress you're eyes are not deceiving you, and its a Pinafore but a pinafore suitable for grownups....
I have always been a bit weary of looking a bit silly in a Pinafore, a dress I last rocked in primary school, but when I saw this little beauty on Asos I was smitten, its the perfect length and fit for my figure and comes in petite or regular if you are of normal height.

Dress - Asos, T-shirt - Asos, Sandals - Primark (old), sunnies - Newlook

I think I am gonna get so much wear from this dress over the Summer and it will be great for my weekend break in Glasgow next month with my converse, perfect for exploring a new city.

What do you think of this Pinafore outfit?

Beauty - Feel Unique haul

Hey lovelies,
to welcome you back to my new self hosted blog, (get me I'm a proper blogger, well kinda haha) I have a good old fashioned beauty haul, cause we all love new makeup right?

feel unique haul featuring urban decay the balm rimmel

After pay day at the end of April I was feeling a little flush and spendy and was looking on Feel Unique for reasons to part with my money!! guess what? stuff jumped into my online basket.

The first thing that caught my eye is this super cute set of Eye brushes that all fit inside the sleek black capsule perfect for taking away on holiday and they where half price too so .....

Next up the gorgeous Frat boy blush OMG this is stunning I'm so glad I ordered this I already own the Nude tude palette and the Mary-Lou Manizer from the balm and I love them, getting this has just cemented in my mind how fab The balm products are.

Now I'm lucky enough to be blessed with quite a full set of brows that don't require much work, I normally just fill in any little gaps with a dark shadow, but when I saw this Rimmel Brow this way I thought I would order it and give it a go, and now my brows are even quicker I just brush through a little product and there done, and its actually dark enough which many brow products don't seem to be.

Lastly but by no means least I picked up the Urban decay setting spray in the travel size, perfect for keeping shine at bay now we are getting into the warmer months and it feels so cool and fresh on the skin, so far I am loving this and really notice an improvement to how well my makeup stays put through out the day.

I absolutely love everything I bought so worth the little splurge, any recommendations for what I should pick up next pay day?
