Beauty - October Favourite's

Hey lovelies,
It's that time again when I reflect on the past month and all the beauty bits new and old that I have been enjoying, and I know everyone will be saying this but how the hell are we at the end of October, this year needs to slow down already!!!
I think most of us change things up a bit beauty wise once we get into the Autumn/Winter seasons, for me the thing I enjoy switching up the most is my eye makeup and I get a little more adventurous, that's where my Maybelline color tattoo's come into play they make a great all over lid colour when your in a hurry or a base for adding other shadows to, I have pink gold, vintage plum, Eternal gold, and my fav Metallic Pomegranate a stunning cranberry shade.

Eye shadow wise I am also totally loving my Naked2 palette this is a new addition to my makeup collection and I am so glad I bought it I have literally used it none stop with half baked and chopper probably being my most used shades.
Sticking with eyes another new purchase (whoops) I have been enjoying is Soap & Glory's supercat eyeliner pen, now I am majorly rubbish at eyeliner always have been but even I can achieve a passable eyeliner flick with this pen, so I would highly recommend giving this a go if you need a new eyeliner.

lastly for makeup is another new makeup addition, oh dear I have been naughty this month the gorgeous NYX butter lipstick in Ripe berry is a winner in my book and perfect for Autumn, read my full review with swatches here.
Lastly but by know means least is zoella's hungry hand's hand cream a new favourite of mine and I can see me re-purchasing when mine runs out cause I love it that much, read my full review Here.

What have you been loving this month?

Fashion - The perfect Autumn Jumper

Primark Autumn Jumper

Hey lovelies,
When it comes to my Autumn wardrobe I am a sucker for cosy knitwear, I love to snuggle up in a warm jumper when it's cold outside. So when I saw this beauty in good old Primark for a mere £10 I snapped it up immediately, since purchasing this lovely a couple of weeks ago I have seen a fair few people share it on Instagram so I am clearly not the only one who loves the gorgeous softness of this Autumnal coloured stripy jumper.

I have literally been wearing this jumper none stop since I bought I cannot stress just how soft and cosy it is, and the colours just scream Autumn to me. For this shoot I popped it on with my blue Topshop Joni jeans and my Topshop leather jacket I bought last year and black Newlook ankle boots, but it would look amazing with black skinnies or faux leather leggings, it's just a great all rounder and I know I am gonna get loads of wear out it.

Beauty - NYX butter lipstick in Ripe berry Review

NYX butter lipstick ripe berry

Hey lovelies,
I have recently made a discovery on the lipstick front that I thought only right to share with you, now NYX lip colour isn't a new thing in the bloggersphere everyone has been going on about the soft matte lip creams for ages and pretty much everyone owns at least one, but I dunno bout you but I hadn't heard much about NYX Butter lipsticks, on a recent trip to boots when for once the NYX stand was not swarming with teenage girls looking to part with there Saturday job wages,  I actually got to have a good look and that's when I fell a little bit in love with these gorgeous lipsticks. As the name suggests the formula is buttery soft feeling like a lip balm rather then a lipstick, yet the colour pay off is good the shade I chose Ripe berry is stunning and perfect for an Autumnal makeup look.

This shade is perfect for an everyday berry lip as its not to dark and in your face but is defo a nod to the berry look so many of us like to rock come Autumn/Winter. For a none matte lipstick the staying power is pretty good lasting a good few hours even surviving drinking but defo needs reapplying after eating, but I don't mind that especially as the formula is so lovely to apply.

On my next visit to Boots I will defo be picking up more shades from this range.

Have you tried the NYX butter lipsticks?

Lifestyle - Baking Toffee Apple Ginger loaf

Toffee apple ginger loaf cake

Hey lovelies,
I haven't had chance to bake in a while, but as I'm currently on holiday I thought I would get back in the Kitchen and bake something seasonal and comforting now the days are becoming distinctly more Autumnal, and what could be more Autumnal then Gingerbread and toffee apple combined in one delicious and super easy to prepare loaf cake.
This cake is lovely sliced with a cuppa mid afternoon or bloody delicious served as pudding with lashings of custard on a chilly evening, this recipe is a definite winner with my family.

So here's what you will need.........

  • 100g softened butter
  • 100g soft brown sugar
  • 125g golden syrup
  • 50g treacle
  • 175g SR flour
  • 3tsp ground ginger
  • 1tsp cinnamon
  • 1tbsp milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 eating apples, I cut into small dice, 1 sliced
  • Some caramel or toffee sauce ( I used Tesco finest caramel sauce)

Instructions...........

  1. Preheat oven to 170c/325f/gas mark3, grease and line with parchment paper a loaf tin.
  2. Cream together butter, sugar, golden syrup and treacle until light and fluffy. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour and spices.
  3. Beat the eggs into the butter mixture one at a time a long with a tablespoon of flour, then add in the rest of the flour and the milk and stir till combined, finally fold in the chopped apple.
  4. Scrape the mixture into the prepared tin, level off the top and arrange the apple slices, bake for between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 mins or until a skewer comes out clean. After 40 minutes cover the top with foil to stop it going to dark.
  5. Leave to cool in the tin for about 30 mins then transfer to a wire rack.
  6. Drizzle with caramel/toffee sauce, I warmed mine in the microwave for 20 seconds first so it drizzled easier.

I would 100% recommend trying this loaf cake, you won't regret it I promise you.

Fashion - The Leopard Print Coat

Leopard print coat

Hey lovelies,
If you read my recent how to wear leopard print post, you will know I am digging leopard print right now and needed to add a leopard print coat to my wardrobe asap, and that is exactly what I did on a chance visit to my local Tesco, where I picked up this beauty for only £29!!
I can't link it for you as it seems to be sold out online so if you like it check out your local Tesco pronto.

To really give the coat the full focus it deserves I wore it with a totally black outfit letting its full glory shine out. But I have worn it with a blush pink top and it looked stunning to, I think as long as what you wear it with is plain this coat will look amazing.

For the full on Autumnal look I went for gold eye makeup and a berry lip, cause cliche! haha.

Love it or hate it leopard print is massive this season, what do you think? is it a trend you will be rocking?

Fashion - How to wear Leopard Print

How to wear leopard print

Hey lovelies,
A trend that has never gone away, but seems to be bigger then ever this season is leopard print...
Now full on leopard print can be pretty scary, but a subtle hint teamed with a classic plain outfit can be stunning, I'm all for adding a pair of leopard print shoes or boots to a basic jeans and top look, I did in my Transitional Autumn outfit.
A bag or scarf is also a great way to give a nod towards the leopard print trend without being to scary, I have a leopard print scarf that I defo need to dig out and will look amazing with a plain white shirt or denim dress, but what I'm really coveting this year is a leopard print coat, how chic and put together would one look thrown over a simple all black outfit to add instant glam, I want one so bad. I'm imagining it with black skinny jeans, black fine knit jumper and maybe a pair of boots or trainers for day, chuck on some heels and you are ready to hit the town for a night out ( not that I rarely do) but I could !
If you are inspired to rock the leopard print trend the high street is awash with cool pieces and I think River Island are killing it right now.

Let me know what you think to the leopard print trend?
