Beauty - September favourites

Naked 3 palette

Hey lovelies,

It's favourites time again, another month has passed and it feels like we really are fast tracking this year and it will soon be over.
So anyway here are a few things I have been enjoying in September.

Naked 3 palette

A new Naked palette has wormed its way into my affections this month and that's the Naked 3* I just love the mix of pinky shades with a splattering of gold thrown in, perfect everyday shades for me and right up my street.

On my nails this month I have been loving this gorgeous polish from Leighton Denny in Country club* a stunning bold navy blue shade, in fact it's been on my toes all holiday, I prefer dark shades on my feet, I just think they always look so nice.

Talking of feet, I prepared my feet for holiday using me new Scholl velvet pedi to really buff them up and remove hard skin, you can catch my review of that here if you like, and after every buffing I have been smothering my tootsies in Soap & Glory's Heel genius cream and my feet have never felt so soft.

Lastly but by know means least and keeping with the cream theme, but this time for hands, I have been obsessed with Zoella beauty, Winter wonder hand, hand cream, last year I loved the gingerbread one and I love this years offering as much, the cream smells lovely and is amazing quality I really rate her hand creams.

Beauty - Leighton Denny Heritage collection

Leighton Denny Heritage collection

Leighton Denny Heritage collection

Hey lovelies,

I have been lucky enough to try a few Leighton Denny nail polishes but few have got me as excited as the NEW AW17 Heritage collection. This collection contains some stunning shades perfect for the coming months in traditional Autumnal colours, they are classic shades that will go perfectly with your winter wardrobe.
I have Rural Sunset* a pretty dusky pink, Country club* a deep bold blue shade, and Take your wellies off * a brown almost greyish colour.
I love all three colours worn together as I have done above but of course look amazing on there own or as accent shades. I think my favourite of the three I have is Country Club, I love a dark nail in winter and the classic navy makes a nice change from black.

As with all polishes I have tried from this brand, they are excellent quality, apply easily and dry fairly quickly.

Even my dog Ernie loves them! hahaha

You can buy the Heritage range from Leighton Denny's website, or from M&S amongst other places for £12 each.

Bershka masculine blazer

Hey lovelies,

So here we are part three in my how to wear a check blazer series, I hope your not sick of the sight of said blazer? so for this last post as promised I have a more Autumnal way to style the check blazer. When me and the hubby shot these photos it was early on a Saturday morning and it was bloody chilly, and certainly cosy jumper weather, but that is not a reason to ditch the blazer, oh no! you just layer up, see I told you I was gonna wear it with everything in my wardrobe, I didn't lie.
The cosy jumper in question is a bargain beauty from Newlook, it's cosy it's soft it has a slogan on, oh and wait for it, it's only £7.99, GO GO GO!!

Beauty - My new simpler skincare routine

Skincare routine

Skincare routine

Hey lovelies,

I am a skincare addict, I love trying new skincare trying to find the combination of products that work for my skin, but I am also on a budget and cannot afford swish expensive brands, I just want products that work I'm not a skincare brand snob, I'm all for cheap if it works but I also don't mind something a little bit more expensive if I can justify it works for me.

So with that in mind here is my new simplified skincare routine with the products I swear by.

Morning

I was lucky enough to win a Twitter giveaway a few weeks back, and received a Magnitone bare faced cleansing brush, boy do I love this thing, I have always read reviews and seen stuff about the Magnitone brushes but never took the leap to buy one. I use this religiously every morning in the shower ( I love how you can do this) with my new favourite cleanser L'oreal's glow scrub, the combination of the brush and the gentle clay scrub, leave my skin looking so much clearer and glowy, they really wake my skin up.
My face looks fresher and feels amazing so clean and smooth, without drying out my combination skin.

Magnitone bare faced cleansing brush

After cleansing I skip all the fancy steps, of oils and serums and just go for a lightweight moisteriser and my skin has been so much happier for it. A couple of months ago I picked up Neutrogena's new Hydro boost gel on a whim, it was new, it was on offer, I needed a new moisteriser and I was broke, so this tub ticked all the boxes for me. I must admit when I opened it, I was sceptical about how it would work as it's not like a normal moisteriser in the fact it's a water based gel rather than a cream. But work it does this cooling lightweight gel sinks straight into the skin, doesn't leave your skin wet, greasy or shiny looking like I find some creams can just really smooth and a perfect base for makeup. I blooming love this and I have already repurchased and I am on my second tub.

Evening

Evening time and things are just as simple as the morning, I remove my makeup with a Micellar water ( my fave is Garnier) then I use my trusty Liz Earle cleanse & polish to give my skin a really good clean, I have been using this stuff for ages and have repurchased time and time again, I simply will not use anything else of a night time to cleanse my skin. After cleaning my skin I slap on more of the moisteriser from the morning ( No special night creams here) and that's it I'm done, no faffing about for ages with loads of different products cause lets face it that gets annoying after a while.

Deep Clean

Once or twice a week, depending on whether I remember I like to use L'oreal's Glow clay mask, from the same range as the glow scrub, to give my skin a real deep clean. I just paint it on leave for quarter of an hour and wash off, giving me time for a scroll through Instagram and Twitter.

So there you have it my quick, easy, simple yet effective skincare routine.

Beauty - My favourite Urban Decay products

Urban Decay

Urban Decay

Hey lovelies,

Urban Decay is one of my favourite brands, and they have some pretty cult products as well as some impressive new launches that have become firm favourites in my makeup collection. So I thought I would show you a little snippet of my fav Urban Decay products that I am lucky enough to own.

You can't mention Urban Decay without thinking about the Naked palettes, and for me the original Naked palette is still one of my most reached for palettes. I love the range of matte's and shimmer in this palette and for me gold is an integral shade to have in my collection. Another Naked palette that has stolen my heart recently is the Naked 3* palette the range of pinky shades is right up my street and great for a subtle everyday look.

Urban Decay

The ultimate Naked basics palette, I think is a great palette to have in your collection, with a range of matts ranging from pale nude shades, mauves, browns and greys it basically has your matte needs covered.

You can't talk about Urban Decay at the moment without touching on the Heat palette this has taken the beauty world by storm and rightly so, it's the perfect mix of warm toned shades, a great palette to take you through from summer right till Autumn and Winter.

Lastly lipsticks, I feel the lippies do not get enough coverage, as everyone loves the palettes but you don't see as much about the lipsticks but they are so nice and the shade and formula range is massive. The favourite two I own are both completely different, Scorched is from the heat range is a metallized formula and has a pretty 90's vibe which I love, and Backtalk is a gorgeous Mauve shade in a comfort Matte.

So there you have it my fav Urban Decay products what are yours?

You can buy Urban Decay through there Website or why not pop in your local Debenhams and get swatching I lose hours doing that!
