October Beauty Favourites

Hey lovelies its that time again, monthly favourites, how is it the end of October already this year is flying by, anywhoo here's what made it onto my October beauty favourites..........

Mac Woodwinked , Barry M Black,, Mac Velvet Teddy, Essemce blush kissable, Mac Brave, Lush Comforter

Mac Woodwinked  is my first Mac eyeshadow and I totally love it. Its such a pretty and wearable shade, really pigmented, I haven't stopped wearing since I bought it.

Barry M Black nail Polish in the Autumn/Winter I like to get out my darker nail shades and I love black glossy nails, Barry M polishes are good quality and a reasonable price. and a brand I buy again and again.

Mac Velvet Teddy  is my newest purchase, I succumbed to the hype and bought it and I am so glad I did as I love it, Its a lovely wearable everyday shade, that is my lips but 100 times better lol!

Essence Silky touch blush in Kissable  is another new purchase, I just love Essence products and have tried mascara, lipstick and lipliner from the brand so when I saw this pretty shade of blush from them I didn't hesitate to pick it, it's a pretty dusky pink shade, which I think is perfect for my colouring.

Mac Brave is a lovely pinky nude shade which is right up my street, this month I have switched between this and Velvet teddy most days, it's really wearable for every day but could easily been worn of an evening with a more dramatic eye look.

Lush Comforter bubble bar during the colder months I defiantly have more baths and I've been really enjoying the comforter, it just smells amazing and produces lots of lovely bubbles what more can a girl what from a bath product, oh yeah it turns the water pink and leaves your skin feeling super soft too.

What have you been loving this month? let me know in the comments. You can check out September's fav's here

Do you love the cute animal trend ?

Autumn beauty wishlist

Hey lovelies it's that time of year when we like to switch up things a bit beauty/makeup wise and there are some products I have my beady eye for the coming months!

Firstly now it is officially bath season in my opinion, I need to keep stocked up on bath products so the first two things on my list are from the Lush Christmas range they are  Candy mountain and The magic of Christmas and I will most certainly be picking them up on my next visit to lush.
Next on to makeup I love Barry M products and I'm loving the look of make me blush in Jam tart it's so pretty and the Gelly hi shine in Chilli looks amazing for Autumn. Everyone raves about the Revlon moister stain and I wanna get on the bandwagon and try Stockholm it looks so nice for Autumn/winter.
Lastly another lip product I have a few of the L'oreal color Riche lipsticks and I can't recommend them enough they are such good quality lipsticks so when I saw Eva pure red that got added to my list of things I "need" straight away.

What are your beauty/makeup recommendations for Autumn/Winter ?

Edinburgh adventure

This is a bit different from my usual posts, and I hope you don't mind but I thought I would share with you my experiences from Edinburgh. I wanted to do this as it is a city I always wanted to visit and I'm so glad I did and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a City short break.

Scottish flag

The view from our hotel

While we were in Edinburgh we did tonnes of walking and sightseeing and as the city is very hilly there are loads of steps which means are our legs where killing us but also means there are some great views,

View from Edinburgh castle

\The view of Hollytood palace from Arthur's seat

Edinburgh is an historical city with some beautiful buildings and lots of cobbled hilly streets and steep staircases which makes it very different from flat Norfolk where I live.

A cute building

The Royal Mile

Outside Scottish Parliament

Edinburgh has plenty of buses and a tram route which makes it easy to get round and helps save your legs a bit lol! We packed so much into our 3 days thanks to the transport system including Edinburgh Castle, the Royal mile , Holyrood Palace , the parliament buildings, Arthur's seat and the Royal Yacht Britannia.

Royal Yacht Britannia

Holyrood Palace

Of course also in Edinburgh as you would expect there are loads of old fashioned Scottish pubs where you can take a rest and grab a drink or something to eat in between shopping and sightseeing.

We ate loads of great food while we were away including Fish and chips in a pub , Pulled pork sandwich in a cafe and a Scone, clotted cream & jam on the Royal Yacht in there beautiful tea rooms, but of course when you visit Scotland you have to try a deep fried Mars bar !!

A deep fried Mars outside a chip shop on the Royal mile

Which was surprisingly good lol! All in all we had a great few days in Edinburgh and would highly recommend a visit, for us the highlight was Britannia and we really enjoyed the insight into how the Queen lived on board. But I can honestly say there wasn't anything we didn't enjoy about the city and there really is plenty to see and do.

I hope you enjoyed this post about my trip I really enjoyed sharing it with you.

@Norwich_Blogger Event

Monday Evening I was lucky enough to attend my first blogging event, in a cute cafe in Norwich. The event organised by the lovely @Norwich_Bloggers girls was an intimate gathering with a chance to see an amazing makeup artist create 2 Halloween inspired makeup looks.

Me and my girl Hayley went up to Norwich on the train and had a mooch round the city before arriving at the Aroma cafe in the evening, everyone was lovely and it was great to meet all the girls in "real life" lol !!

It was a really enjoyable evening and we were lucky enough to receive a lovely goodie bag too.

Which included some great brands , such as Real techniques, Eco tools, Nashy, Yves Rocher, wild about beauty, lipcote and many more as you can see in the photo and everything came in a gorgeous tote bag. I am very grateful for the invite and hope to attend many more events with all theses lovely ladies in the future.

Thanks again for the invite girls.

October Glossybox review

Its that time again when I receive my Glossybox, and October's box is again another good'n , this Autumn spell inspired box, contains 5 full size products aimed at illuminating your complexion and treating skin to the TLC it needs as cold days draw closer.

The first thing that caught my eye when unboxing my Glossybox this month is the Nicka K airbrush blending sponge, I was really pleased to see this in my box as I love beauty sponges and recently got into using one everyday to apply my base makeup as I love the finish it gives, so this will defiantly be used. (£6.50)

The next thing I spotted was the Jelly Pong Pong fairy lashes curl mascara, I have already tried this mascara and I'm really enjoying the results no clumping and none of that annoying smudging and transferring to your brow bone, the brand is 100% cruelty free so if that's something that is important to you will love this brand. (£17.95)

Next another product I already enjoy using is the So Susan Haute light highlighting pencil. This product can be used in a couple of different ways either apply it along the inner rim of the eyes to make the whites pop or on the brow or cheekbones to boost radiance, which is what I have used it for and I love it.(£15)

The Lanolips antibacterial hand cream has already found it's way into my handbag and is such a good idea a hand cream that not only keeps your hands feeling soft but also kills 99.9% of germs its a must have for the cold and flu season, and is defo gonna soon become a staple in my handcare regime.(£8.99)

The last product in this months box is the Talika Photo-hydro day moisteriser this is a luxury French brand that claims to sooth and nourish skin leaving it hydrated and perfectly primed all season. I am yet to try this but look forward to giving it a whirl as the claims sound amazing.(£24.85)

Yet again this month's Glossybox contains five full size products worth in excess of £60 so represent excellent value for money for the £10 subscription fee. I am very happy with this month's contents and plan on using everything I received.

I hope you enjoyed this review. Let me know your thoughts.

Yankee Tarts review

Yep you have guessed it lovelies, the title gives it away I have been buying Yankee candle tarts again! I just can't help myself, I have a problem. Anywho here's what I picked up this time ;

The First one that caught my eye was Gingerbread Maple mainly because I love Gingerbread. This is how Yankee describe it Baking spices and the warm fragrance of cloves, with just a touch of maple, bring back memories of gingerbread cooling on cookie sheets. And boy does it I absolutely love this tart and couldn't wait to melt it as soon as I got home. It's sweet and spicy all at the same time and is right up my street.

Next up is Christmas cookie I new I had to pick this up I had it last year and loved it, and new I had to have it again. It's described by Yankee as Buttery rich, Vanilla scented, holiday sugar cookies. It smells just so sugary with vanilla too in my opinion you can't go wrong and I just love the sweet scent.

Lastly is Berry trifle the title alone sold my this one it just sounds like its gonna be delicious and I'm a sucker for anything fruity. This is how Yankee describe it, The mouth-watering fragrance of fresh berries tangy and sharp, nestled on a bed of soft vanilla cream - delicious! And it is just that you get the tart berry smell with vanilla in the background its just a really yummy smell.

As you would expect from Yankee candle the tarts fragrance your whole home for up to 8 hours and offer great value at only £1.49 each.

Have you tried these fragrances ? Any you would recommend? I would love to know.

Autumn lookbook

Hey lovelies today I have for you a little Autumn lookbook of staple pieces I think us ladies need in our Autumn/Winter wardrobe;

I dunno bout you but I think with a few key pieces you can build your Autumn/Winter outfits with ease and if you add a few new bits every now and then and your sorted !

The first items I would say are staples this and anytime of the year are of course Jeans, Today I have included mom jeans and black skinnies, now mom jeans where well out of my comfort zone when I first got them as I always wear skinnies but now I love them they are just so comfy and can be styled in so many ways to just look effortless and like you haven't tried to hard. Black skinnies on the other hand are well n truly established as an item of clothing you just need, lets face it they literally go with everything, heels, flats ankle boots, long boots. shirts, blouses, t-shirts, roll necks or chunky jumpers, they are my go to item of clothing when I just don't know what to wear.
Another item that you need this season in an Aline skirt they are everywhere at the moment and I can see why, they tick the box for the 70's trend and are just so flattering, they look great this time of year with tights and boots. I have gone for a black one in a thick 'woolie' material that I picked up in Primark, but whether you go for denim, cord, suede, black, tan or burgundy you need an Aline skirt for Autumn/Winter.
As you can probably tell I love a turtle/roll neck I find them so easy to wear either on there own or layered up under shirts and jumpers, I find they flatter my figure, although if your larger chested unlike me you may have trouble with them.Plus they too also tick the box of being 70's inspired.
Now when it gets really cold your gonna want a chunky knit jumper, I have gone for a cream cable knit in a couple of sizes bigger then my usual size as I like my jumpers oversized as I think they look more flattering plus they are easier to layer up over shirts and roll necks.
Lastly footwear, it's well and truly time to put away your sandals and ballet flats and to get out BOOTS. I bloody love boots and own several pairs, here I have worn 3 different pairs of ankle boots , chunky heeled boots , mine are from Public Desire , Chelsea style boots with gold detailing these are a couple of years old from Newlook but being real leather are still going strong, and a pair of shearling lined lace ups, I picked mine up in Primark for only £15, but whatever style you go for you need a pair of black ankle boots they are an Autumn/Winter essential !!

I hope you enjoyed this lookbook I really enjoyed making it, let me know your thoughts and what are your Autumn/Winter essentials.

Lush Catastrophe fresh face mask review

Hey lovelies you may remember I went to lush a few weeks ago and I picked up the Catastrophe fresh face mask see what else I picked up  here, and I promised you a full review, well here it is :

I new before I visited lush I wanted to pick up the catastrophe mask as I had heard good things about it and I was not disappointed, as with all the fresh masks they have a use by date and have to be stored in the fridge. So with this in mind I used the mask as a "prescription" for my skin applying every couple of days, this I found had brilliant results. While trailing the mask I was quite poorly with a nasty cold and of course typically broke out with a handful of pimples as I normally do if I'm run down, well Catastrophe mask to the rescue I applied the mask as usual, it feels so cooling and refreshing straight from the fridge and my spots immediately looked a lot less red and angry looking and cleared up completely within 2 days !! Everytime I used the mask my skin felt so clean and I think it has visibly improved the appearance of my skin and defiantly reduced my pores.
The mask itself is quite thick with flecks of blueberries in, and is easy to apply with your fingers to your face, as I said before it feels really cooling on your skin, you leave it on for 10 minutes or so and wash off with warm water. It is ideal for using of an evening in the bath or while having a cuppa in the morning as it doesn't drip or and isn't messy like some masks can be.
I would 100% recommend  the Catastrophe mask if you have oily skin, especially if you have been poorly, stressed or if your skin just needs some tlc!
I hope you found this review helpful I will defiantly be repurchasing this mask next time my skin needs a little bit of help.
In the mean time I may try one of the other masks in the lush range any recommendations gratefully received.

I went to Primark to pick up some bits for my up-coming trip to Edinburgh and for less then £80 I think I have bought a pretty good capsule wardrobe for my weekend break away. Comfy boots, warm jumpers and a practical parka perfect ingredients for my trip, and they look pretty good too!!

Just another Autumn outfit

Hey lovelies today I thought I would do a quick outfit post, with a couple of new bits I have recently picked up.

I think this is a great transitional outfit taking us into the colder months, I picked up the Black shift dress and maroon roll neck in Peacocks, the dress was only £12 and the top £6. A whole outfit for £18 is a bit of a bargain! It's defo worth checking Peacocks out they have upped their game recently. The boots and leather jacket I had last year from Newlook, a leather Jacket just goes with so many things and is great for this time of the year, you can't go wrong if you buy one, the same goes for black ankle boots.

I hope you liked this outfit let me know your thoughts.

Lush haul

I recently went on a shopping spree, so of course I had to visit Lush now we have officially entered bath season.

Anyway here is what I got:

  1. Catastrophe cosmetic mask
  2. Popcorn lipscrub
  3. Milky bath bubble bar
  4. Comforter bubble bar

I new I had to try the Catastrophe cosmetic mask as I had read so many good things about it and so far it hasn't disappointed. I plan to do a full review on this once i have been using it a few weeks.

Popcorn lipscrub I picked this up as now it's getting cooler I get quite dry lips and this one smells amazing so it was a no brainer for me.

The Milky bath bubble bar, I picked this up as I quite fancy having a Cleopatra moment and bathing in milk lol! and it smells so fresh I look forward to trying it.

Of course I had to pick up the comforter everyone knows this one its smells amazing turns the water pink and gives you loads of bubbles and you can also use it over several baths.

Hope you like my little haul, what would you recommend I pick up next time I visit lush? I would love your recommendations.

OUTFIT - Autumn layering

In Autumn I love to layer up , and there is not sweater that doesn't benefit from a simple white shirt underneath, It just smartens up the entire outfit.

I picked up this Geo print sweater a couple of months ago from BOOHOO in the sale for only £10 , It's no longer available I'm afraid but boohoo always have bargains so it's always worth a look . The jeans are my Mom jeans from Newlook , similar HERE. The white shirt I purchased from depop for only £5,  I'm also wearing my Public desire Aria Boots which if you have seen any of my other outfit posts you will know I love and have worn loads.

This outfit was built up of great value pieces I have picked up over a couple of months , which shows you don't have to spend a fortune to get a unique , on trend Autumn outfit,

I hope you like this outfit post , let me know what you think.

What I Miss About summer

         As we have changed seasons it's got me thinking about the things that I miss most about Summer;

  • It being light in the mornings ( it is so hard to get out of bed when it's still dark)
  • Walking outside barefoot.
  • Drying your washing outside . I know this sounds old ladyish , but we all know there is nothing better then sleeping between sheets that have been dried outside.
  • Sitting out in the garden in the evening after work.
  • Forever hoping this weekend is gonna be nice and actually sunny.

Autumn - we all love it !
Those cosy evenings with candles burning and fairy lights twinkling.
Digging out big jumpers and buying new big jumpers.
Bright crisp days ,the leaves turning pretty colours on the trees.
Darker colder evenings , always an excuse for sponge puddings and crumbles and custard.
Last but not least...of course that not to distant promise , that in the near future winter will arrive and with winter comes , the best holiday of all CHRISTMAS !!!

Do you miss Summer ? or are you glad to see the back of it.
I would love to know
