Beauty - Summertime essentials

Frezyderm velvet skin protection

Hey lovelies,

Boy oh boy is it hot, us Brits are melting in this unusually hot spell, we just can not handle the heat can we? and I think most of us have been guilty of saying it's to HOT, which is ironic as normally we moan about the lack of sun and hot weather in this country, this warm weather has given us something new to MOAN about!

Anyway this hot weather does cause us challenges, when it comes to protecting our skin and not looking like a sweaty greasy mess.

First up protection, we now all now the dangers of the sun to our skin and the importance of SPF, but I dunno about you I have always struggled to find one suitable for my face, that does not make me look greasy and shiny, step up FrezyDerm suncream velvet face*, FrezyDerm is a Greek brand that has been around for about 30 years and has recently started expanding around the world, they produce everyday skin care including sun protection.
It has recently featured in some publications as one of the top SPF for your face.

I can see why, the Velvet face* sun screen comes in two levels of protection the factor 30 which I have and also factor 50 for anyone with particularly sensitive to the sun skin. The cream itself is not really a cream at all but a super lightweight gel, that absorbs immediately into the skin, and leaves the skin feeling  velvety smooth, with none of that greasy feel traditional suncreams can leave, not only that it dries matte so no more shiny face. On top of all that it softens the appearance of lines is water resistant, and sits beautifully under makeup.

In the Summer I prefer a lightweight base, and I am currently enjoying Light wonder from Charlotte Tilbury, as it feels so light and fresh on the skin while still giving enough coverage.
For popping in my handbag for on the go touch ups my Joan Collins duo compact* is perfect containing a silky soft powder and a lipstick of choice, all in a pretty compact with a large mirror.

In warm weather we also need a bit of help keeping our makeup actually on our face, that's where Urban Decay win for me with their Primer potion for eyes, that helps to keep eyeshadow on my greasy eyelids, and the All nighter* setting spray is the best setting spray I have tried and is also great for freshening up makeup throughout the day.

So there you go my Summertime essentials, what are yours?

  1. The sunscreen sounds nice. I always struggle with that too.

  2. The UD primer is essential for me and my hooded eyelids in the summer too, otherwise my eye makeup wouldn't last two seconds!
