Hey lovelies,
I've had this post floating about in my head for a while, what makes my blog unique? in a sea of fashion blogs, what makes me different? When you think fashion blogger, what sort of person do you imagine them to be? before I became a fashion blogger, I thought young (mid twenties), slim frame, relatively tall, lived in a big city eg, London, Manchester, and had plenty of money to spend on fashion and camera equipment.
What makes me different?
Now I realise there are all sorts of fashion bloggers out there, all with different body types, different styles, in locations from cities to rural countryside and that's ok! Who wants to look at a sea of photo's that all look the same when scrolling through Instagram, or reading blogs? I know I don't, I'm sick of influencer xxx on a yacht in the med in her size 6 bikini that cost over a £100, or the same Gucci belt and bag outfits shot in locations I can only dream of!
I wanna see women like me, women who shop in Topshop or who have massive saved lists on Asos. Women who look for quiet places to take outfit pictures cause you feel a tit getting all posy and shit in front of strangers. I prefer bloggers who have there own style, a way of dressing that doesn't make them a clone, whose photographic style is there own, and who is unique.
Cause you feel like a tit getting all posy and shit in front of strangers
That's what I aim to be, ME, with my unique style, and my unique look. Yes I'm pretty short, I'm not a size 6, and I'm certainly not twenty something but you know what that's ok, I'm ME.
That's what makes blogging different from conventional fashion journalism, you get a real person's take on trends and styles, rather than those unrealistic guides in magazines that require you to have a shit tonne of money, and look like a fashion victim in impractical, and outlandish outfits.
So that's what I'm gonna do, I'm just gonna plod on sharing my favourite outfits, shot in not particularly glamorous locations and hope people like them, saying that how amazing is Oxburgh Hall as a backdrop? I think we don't always remember that we have these little gems in our countryside.
