Lifestyle - Do our phones get in the way of life?

The mobile phone does it get in the way of life?

The mobile phone as we know it now has only been around a few short years, but now can we imagine our lives without it? who remembers phones when all you could do was call or text? it's now unimaginable not to be able to check emails, take a selfie, scroll through twitter and even check the weather forecast........
But we did and we managed, and maybe we stressed a little less, we didn't have that constant feeling like we might of missed something.

I'm not saying the mobile phone is all bad, cause come on, we all now rely it to do the exact things that I mentioned above, but do we need to have it in our hands constantly checking, or should we, or could we be happier if we limited our phone usage, maybe after a certain time in the evening, so we could really unwind and relax. Maybe read a book, watch TV without missing bits because you were on your phone, how many of us do that without even realising until the show is over and you haven't a clue what happened. Or maybe we could actually interact with the people in our own front room!!

I know I'm guilty of being on my phone too much, and of missing snippets of conversations, because I was reading a tweet or commenting on an instagram post. So I think I should be taking my own advice, and try putting my phone out of sight for a couple of hours of an evening.

What do you think? Does the mobile phone get in the way of life?

  1. Such a great post. I agree with this and need to try and do it more myself :)

  2. An interesting post! I love taking a break away from my phone, it's healthy! We miss out on so many things if we are constantly glued to our phones.

The world is certainly connected online which is fantastic, there are so many benefits of having access to so many things in the palm of our hands but as long as it doesn't consume everything you do :)

    It's all about balance!

    Great read.
