Hey you guys, you may of seen my incoherent ramblings on Twitter about my recent decorating en-devour, my dining room, now the term dining room makes it sound grand, it's not, the room is fairly small and for some reason when the room was last decorated 8 years ago I thought it was a good idea to have it wallpapered, mmm hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Despite being at the front of the house with a good size window the room needed brightening up, so that wallpaper had to go, and if you have ever stripped wallpaper you will know it is a massive pain in the arse to remove, and this task alone nearly broke me........
Now the room is light, bright, clean and fresh, its been decluttered and now feels like a calm relaxing room to enjoy my morning coffee and our family meals of an evening.
So what did I do
After the room was prepped, ie wallpaper stripped and walls wiped down, I set about painting I went for brilliant white on the ceiling, a white satin on the woodwork and radiator and the walls I choose a gorgeous pale grey shade (White Petal), so I could really show off the artwork I had chosen for the room. Now we are on a budget so choose all out paint from B&Q own paint range, and we where not disappointed despite being reasonably priced the paint is excellent quality and was easy to apply, so I would highly recommend. Now for the element that really makes the room in my opinion, the prints I have chosen from Desenio. I have seen a few accounts on instagram sharing prints they chose from Desenio, so being the easily influenced person I am, I took a look, I must admit it took me bloody ages to narrow down which prints to buy as there are literally hundreds of designs to choose from. In the end I went for a black and white theme to complement my colour scheme, and I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the end result I love how they look and how the room now feels, If you are looking for some prints check them out.
I hope you don't mind me adding more lifestyle posts to Kate's Closet its something I have really been enjoying lately.
