My four ingredient dairy free chocolate ice cream recipe

Now if like me you are dairy free, you are going to wanna stick around for this recipe. I have a dairy intolerance meaning eating foods containing dairy causes me pain and bloating, therefore I actively avoid eating such foods. Although milk crops up in things you just don't expect it to like crisps, but that is a different story for another day ( food producers stop putting milk in things )

My four ingredient dairy free chocolate ice cream recipe

I am a massive ice cream fan, but buying dairy free ice cream, is a hit n miss affair, with some brands just not hitting the mark on flavour, and all being overpriced in my opinion, and rarely on offer!

So after a bit of online research of various different ice cream recipes, I came up with this simple four ingredient chocolate ice cream recipe, that requires no hard to find, expensive ingredients and know ice cream machine.

So let's get cracking with the recipe;

Ingredients

  • Coconut cream (not milk its to thin) 1 tin or carton
  • Almond milk 1 cup ( I used the Alpro dark chocolate one for an extra chocolate hit
  • 2 tablespoons of good cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon of golden syrup or maple ( add more or less for a sweeter or less sweet ice cream
  • OPTIONAL extras, dark chocolate chunks or chips

Equipment

  • bowl
  • hand mixer or food mixer
  • tin or container

Method

Combine the ingredients in a bowl or food mixer, until you have a creamy texture, I would recommend tasting it here, to see if you need to add any more cocoa or syrup for your taste.

Once combined stir in any optional extras, and transfer to the tin or container ( make sure to chill in the freezer first ) then pop your ice cream into the freezer, I recommend giving it a couple of stirs in the first hour in the freezer.

Remove from the freezer about 10 or 15 minutes before serving and scoop with a wet ice cream scooper, serve however you please.

This ice cream is very rich and chocolaty and certainly hits my chocolate ice cream loving spot.

I am looking forward to experimenting further flavour wise, now I have found a basic recipe that works for me.

Let me know in the comments if you fancy some of this dairy free chocolate ice cream? or what flavours you think I should try to make next?

Coffee maybe .......... or..........

Go on PIN for later
