Until recently I didn't actually own a black slip dress, even though I do think they are a pretty great piece to have in your wardrobe, and possibly come under the the title of a wardrobe essential. I mean what is not to love about them, they are black, they are flattering for most figures, they look great in both Summer and Autumn, and go with whatever you have in your wardrobe to make an outfit that looks effortless but still individual.
I have had mine a few weeks now, I picked it up from M&S, which to be honest is not a place I usually shop, but I saw this particular dress on Instagram and fell in love with not only its simplicity but under £20 price tag. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be available online, but I believe it went in to sale, so worth checking if you can find one hanging about in store.
In case you can't get your hands on this one I have linked a few below that are similar and are all under £40.
This dress is made with summer in mind and I have worn it several times throughout the heatwave and it will be in my suitcase for my Greek holiday in September. It looks perfect with a tan belt and sandals, or with plimsolls, a straw bag and a denim jacket. This is how I will be wearing it on holiday, or maybe with a floppy hat and fit flops, it really is such an easy to wear dress.
