Going vegan, living a vegan lifestyle and the possible health benefits of a plant based diet have been highly publicised in the last few years, with many celebrities and influencers shouting from the rooftops about the lifestyle. The movement has certainly gained momentum and supermarkets are bringing out vegan friendly products on the weekly, making it so much easier to go vegan.

I must admit I used to think going vegan would be an impossible task for me, but in recent months I have completely removed dairy products from my diet, due to a possible intolerance, milk based foods certainly seem to be an IBS trigger for me. I now often choose the vegan option when eating out as I know it will be "safe", and when eating at home use many vegan dairy alternatives in my meals. I have also reduced my meat consumption and have a few vegi/vegan days each week, and it has been easier than I thought. If you are like me and wonder if it would be a health benefit to try a vegan lifestyle and you live in the US it's easy to find out if a vegan diet would improve your health by checking for animal derived food allergies, just visit Healthlabs.com and have a should I be a vegan test, to finally find out if it's your diet that's making you feel bloated, unwell or sluggish. The test is a simple blood test, and the results take just a couple of days.
On the other hand if you are already Vegan, but are concerned that you are not hitting your vitamin and nutrient requirements health labs also offer vegan nutritional maintenance test, which will highlight any gaps you need to address in your diet.
If these tests sound like something you would be interested in, I have a nice little discount code just use KATE25 to get 25% off, pretty good right ?
Are you a vegan? has it made you feel healthier? I would love to know, leave me a comment.

ReplyDeleteAm I healthier! I sure feel that way. I've not lost weight as I like my vegan junk food but the stomach upsets, cramps, constipation etc are all gone. I just feel lighter, and I noticed a near immediate benefit after ditching milk. I have been anaemic in the past but 2n5 yrs vegan my bloods are great :) I eat more veg than I have in the past. I didn't go vegan for my health though, I watched the environmental documentary Cowspiracy on Netflix and it made me see that I couldn't continue consuming meat while modern farming is destroying our planet (rainforests, water etc). Definitely recommend that, and Forks over Knives for more health benefits. Being vegan is a fab adventure, I find.. loving discovering new foods :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback, it's great to hear how well its worked for you x
