My 2018 beauty heroes

When looking back over last December's posts, it seems I went for a yearly roundup of beauty favourites rather than a monthly favourites post, to make it a tradition, I'm gonna do it again.

So here goes, my beauty heroes of 2018, the products and tools, I continue to reach for time and time again. Some came with me from last year and some are new entries in the beauty charts, but all products I have loved using this last year.

My 2018 beauty heroes

I'll start with the makeup cause, that's the fun bit of beauty isn't it ? the metaphorical icing on the cake.

I couldn't do a favourites without mentioning Urban Decay's Naked heat and petite heat palettes, they have literally been my go to palettes this year. The petite is a great everyday palette, it might be small but the shades all work so well together, many looks can be created from these few shades, and of course it's perfect for on the go, and travelling. The Naked heat, is a beauty and for me such a worthwhile investment, the warm tones, golds and shimmers are right up my street, compliment my green eyes, and work for every season. It is hands down my favourite of the Naked palettes.

Next up are a couple of new entries in the makeup charts, but they have gone straight in at the top. When its comes to foundation, full coverage and matte are not on my egender, but lightweight, natural and glowy are words I associate with products I am gonna love, and I am in love with Clinique's even better glow foundation, and that's cause it delivers what it says on the bottle, a healthy looking glowing complexion, that lasts all day. When is comes to mascara, I like most of you have tried a fair few, some I love like Maybelline lash sensational, and Too Faced better than sex, but for me this year Lancome has pipped them to the post with their Grandiose Noir mascara, I just love how lengthened and fluttery my lashes look when I'm wearing it, not to mention the super black formula that doesn't smudge or transfer.

You guys know I love skincare, what's the point of a nice paint job, if the body work is a bit shabby?

Ren skincare is a new brand to me this year, but since getting my paws on the Rosa centifolia cleansing balm, and the Sirtuin replenishing cream, I have been sold on this brand. If you are not familiar, and love natural skincare defo check them out. Another favourite skincare product is a cult classic in the beauty world, Pixi is a favourite among skincare lovers and the Glow Tonic has legendary status, and for good reason, this product is something that has come into my routine this year and is going nowhere soon. It really has added a new dimension to my skincare routine and I my skin just loves it. When it comes to skincare tools, I'm not really into it, except for my Magnitone cleansing brush, I use this every morning in the shower without fail, with a cleansing scrub, for gentle but deep clean feeling.

Just two more products to go, first up a haircare product that anyone like me, who needs to cover up pesky greys between colouring appointments, really needs to try, just a light spray of L'oreal Magic retouch hides those naughty greys. The last product is by know means glamourous but for me, a total essential, when it comes to feet, know one likes hard skin, the Scholl rapid pedi, is a buffing tool for removing hard skin, leaving feet smooth and soft.

I hope you enjoyed that mammoth post, and well done for getting to the end.
