Over the knee boots a winter wardrobe essential ?

As I am typing this post, I'm cuddled up on the sofa, the christmas lights are twinkling the dog is snoring, and Home Alone is on the TV, pretty perfect, but outside let me tell you its blooming cold and my winter outfits are out in force. Including some of my favourite footwear.

There are some pieces that are worth the investment due to there sheer versatility and timeless qualities. Items that can be bought out winter after winter and for me that is the over the knee boots, pull on with a pair of skinnies for instant sass. It doesn't matter what you wear them with, a pair of over the knee boots instantly take any outfit from zero to hero!!

Today's outfit is compiled of items from my wardrobe, all items loved and worn many times before just not exactly in this combination, well that's not entirely true, the Christmas jumper is in fact my husbands but you get the idea, and for me the over the knee boots just takes a quite a standard winter outfit to a new level.

You could of course wear knee high boots with any number of outfits, a skirt or jumper dress would like amazing but for me, I love them with a good old pair of skinny jeans. Blue or black, either work, these boots last featured on Kate's Closet back in january, in a similarly simple look, that's just perfect for this time of year.

And you don't have to pay through the nose for a pair either, mine where picked up in NEWLOOK last year for under £30, and this year I am still getting my money's worth from these boots.
