Book review Eve of Man - Giovanna & Tom Fletcher

Eve of man - Giovanna and Tom Fletcher

When I first discovered this book, while book hunting on Amazon, I was intrigued although this is not my usual type of story. The book is set in a dystopian future, humans are dying out and the Earth is damaged beyond repair. Normally I read novels set in modern times or in an accurate factual time in history, so this book is way out of my comfort zone, but still something drew me in. I have not read anything by the authors before although I have heard good things about Giovanna's previous work and since reading this, I will be looking out for her other titles.

How do you fall in love when you're the last girl on Earth?

Eve is sixteen and special, she lives alone in the Tower under the strict gaze of the Mothers, because she's the last girl on Earth.

Now it's time for Eve to face her destiny, Three males have been selected and the future of humanity lies in her hands, She's always accepted her fate.

Until she meets Bram.

Eve wants control over her life. She wants freedom.

But how do you choose between love and the future of the human race?

This story is beautifully written, Eve always accepted her fate until the carefully constructed web of lies she has been fed, starts to unweave and Eve is left wondering if her best interests and that of the human race are really at the heart of EPO's plans for her. Has man really learnt from the mistakes of the past. The story is a really interesting concept, set in a future when mother nature has took the wind out of the sails of humans, probably because of our treatment of the world. Eve of Man is the first in a trilogy and I for one cannot wait to find out if humans really are worth saving and if nature or science knows best the answers.
