Book review It felt like a kiss - Sarra Manning

Book review It felt like a kiss - Sarra Manning

I picked up It felt like a kiss in a charity shop, it was one of three books for a £1, to be honest I was drawn in by at first the pretty cover and then the blurb. I then took it home and proceeded to read it in three days flat. I loved it.

It Felt like A Kiss - Sarra Manning ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ellie Cohen was living a pretty dreamy life, she lived in a flat share with her best mates, she was close to her family and especially her mum, and she had a great job in an exclusive Mayfair gallery. The only downside was the string of deadbeat boyfriends, and the rock star dad who refused to acknowledge her existence, but nobody's perfect.

When the latest  loser ex boyfriends sells Ellie out to the media, she finds herself fighting to keep her reputation and her job. David Gold is charged with handling the media crisis and Ellie, hes handsome and ambitious and thinks Ellie is a gold digger, she thinks hes a shark in a sharp suit, So of course they couldn't, wouldn't, shouldn't fall in love.

Ellie is a loveable heroine and I was really rooting for her when the crap started hitting the fan. She's strong willed yet has a vulnerability that makes her endearing. The book moves between present day and 1986 when it looks at the relationship of Ellie's parents before and after she was born. I like the connection that develops between Ellie and the lawyer David, and how just unsuited they seem to be.......

I highly recommend It felt like a kiss, I found it easy reading with characters that you care about. I will be looking for more titles by Sarra Manning for sure.

  1. Lovely post Kate, I enjoy Sarra Manning’s books too, my favourites being ‘Nobodies Girl’, ‘Adorkable’ and ‘You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me’. ‘It Felt like A Kiss’ has the prettiest cover and I love charity shop book shopping as there are so many bargains to be had. Happy reading! :-) xx
