La Roche - Posay Effaclar duo (+) review
I had of course heard of the wonders of La roche- Posay Effaclar duo(+) but until recently hadn't tried it. My skin used to behave itself with maybe one spot once in a blue moon, that is until the last few months when a combination of factors has led to me having more breakouts, eg, coming off the pill, health issues and meds.
So back in March I decided to take the plunge and try the Effaclar duo(+), I was hesitant as I remember from my teens that anything that claimed to help with spots, dried my skin out. The difference here is Effaclar duo(+) is in fact a light gel moisteriser that perfectly hydrates oily and spot prone skin while treating spots, preventing new ones and fading the marks left from old ones, in short this is one clever product.
The hypoallergenic formula is great for sensitive skin and contains know parabens, preservatives or colourants, and has some clever active ingredients. Niacinamide to reduce the appearance of spots, Lipo Hydroxy acid and Salicylic acid to unclog pores, Zinc pca to mattify and control shine, Procerad to minimise pigmentation marks and Glycerin keeps skin hydrated throughout the day.
So does it work?
Hell yeah, I have been using Effaclar duo(+) for around 6/7 weeks and I know for sure I will be using it for the foreseeable future. My skin feels perfectly hydrated yet not oily or greasy, it's not bumpy the spots I had have cleared up and I have yet to have a single spot come up since I have been using it. The pigment marks on my face are fading and my skin just looks fresher and clearer than it has in months. I keep my skincare routine simple, cleansing toning and using the duo(+) every morning and night and for me this has worked a treat and helped me get my skin back to its old self.
If you have problem skin, I highly recommend giving the Effaclar duo(+) a go.
