Wedding season getting #weddingready

Wedding season getting #weddingready
This post is a collaboration with Cosmetify

Now we are in the tail end of May, wedding season is well and truly upon us, with brides up and down the country ticking things of their to do list, in preparation for the big day, and guests frantically trawling the internet for the perfect wedding guest outfit.

In today’s post I’m going to share my #weddingready secrets with you, then you can stick to the business of enjoying the celebration instead of worrying about the state of your skin or if your lipstick can take another glass of bubbly. The post is in collaboration with Cosmetify, a cool website that places over 100,000 beauty, hair, skincare and makeup products from thousands of brands directly to your fingertips, making getting wedding ready simple.

For me this starts with skincare, your skin is the foundation of any makeup look, and if you get that right the rest will take care of itself. My advice is to get in place a simple yet effective routine several weeks before the big day, giving your skin time to respond to any new products. I find if your skin is prone to breakouts or is sensitive keep the number of products to a minimum and use those that are intended for your skin type. I recommend a deep cleansing gel, like Vichy Normaderm deep cleansing purifying gel. It can be used both morning and night and provides a deep cleanse without drying out your skin and is suitable for sensitive skin types.

Once you have a skincare routine in place that you like you can start thinking about what you are putting on top in the way of makeup. I like summer wedding makeup to be fresh yet long lasting with a great base at the heart of the look. When it comes to a base that will keep that shine at bay, mask any imperfections yet look radiant and natural. I am in love with Bare Minerals Blemish Rescue skin clearing loose powder foundation. You need very little product to achieve a flawless, semi matte finish that not only provides great coverage is lightweight, it also treats your skin and helps to clear up any problem areas. Since I got mine I have used it every day, it’s so quick to apply and I love the natural coverage.

Weddings involve lots of eating and drinking, well at least that’s what I would hope for. That’s a lot for any lipstick to cope with, and who wants to think about their lipstick when they are having a good time. I know I don’t, the answer is a long lasting liquid lipstick that can take a bit of punishment from the several glasses of wine that you sink, just to be sociable of course. That lipstick is Pixi’s MatteLast Liquid Lipstick, it comes in a range of shades from reds to more neutral shades, I have ‘Really Rose’ a perfect mauve toned pink great with any summer makeup look and would suit many skin tones.

I hope you found my tips helpful, and if you are attending any weddings this summer, you have a great time, and if its you getting married, remember to breath and enjoy the day, it goes by so quickly.
