This may sound sad to to some but I am so excited about renovating my downstairs loo, we have of course decorated our home many times, but we have yet to replace the ceramics in the cloakroom or either bathroom, we have decided to take the plunge and start with our downstairs loo, the smallest room in the house.
Currently the room has a cream suite and pink walls and I can't wait to see the back of the dated decor.
So what are my plans
Everything, I plan to rip it all out, and start again from the ground up.
Flooring - we are ripping up the vinyl and having the floor tiled in large oblong white tiles, to really brighten the room.
Suite - the cream 90's toilet and basin are going and being replaced with a white toilet and vanity unit with basin, providing much needed storage.
Decor - the cloakroom is tiny, so I wanted to keep it bright but still add some drama, meaning three walls are being painted a white shade, with the back wall behind the loo being navy, and we'll be using navy brick tiles at the opposite end above the vanity to tie it all together.
Storage - I've already mentioned the vanity, we will also be putting up a couple of shelves on the navy wall behind the loo, mainly for decorative items.
Accessories - I plan on adding pops of pale pink into the scheme, with the hand towels, decorative items and painting the inside of the door pink.
Window dressing - currently the window is bare, I'm toying with adding a blind, maybe a roman one for interest at the window, as we do not need it for privacy.
We will be starting work in the next few weeks, I cannot wait to share with you my finished room.
