I'm a bit of a skincare addict, I would rather spend my money on skincare than new makeup, if the plaster is in good order, the paint will look good, and it's the same for skin. Saying that I do keep my routine pretty simple, I have tried and tested many products and know a simple routine works best for my skin.
When it comes to a bit of "ME" time, like most people I like to pop on a facemask and relax for quarter of an hour, but just lately I've had a lot going on, I've been feeling quite stressed and just haven't really been looking after myself. So it was perfect timing that this Kathleen mask came through my letter box and gave me the opportunity to take a few minutes for me, and give my skin a little boost.
Kathleen Natural has brought out a new range of face masks covering four skin concerns, Deep pore treatment mask, Dead sea clay mask, Collagen mask and Bright mask. Having oily/combination skin with enlarged pores that was looking quite dull, I choose the Deep pore treatment mask, as I really wanted to give my face a deep clean.
The Deep pore treatment mask, is an antibacterial deep cleansing mask, designed to give your face a deep down clean, minimize pores, and treat spots and blackheads, while reducing any redness. The active ingredients include kaolin clay, tea tree essential oil, Chamomile, Vitamin E, spinach, Rose water and Lavender.
Kathleen natural make high performance skincare from natural and organic ingredients here in the UK, they combine science and nature to bring us effective yet kind skincare, with none of the nasty chemicals found in other products.
So what did I think of the mask? The mask comes in a generous 60ml jar, so this product will last ages as only a thin layer is needed per application. I used a makeup brush to apply to freshly washed skin, the mask itself has quite a strong antibacterial smell when you initially open the jar, but this does ware off once its on your face. Oh and it's also green so I did look a bit like the hulk, but it's also deeply satisfying as it dries it starts to crack and you get that tight feeling when you can't move your face. I love masks that do that, as it always feel like they are really doing something. Leave on for 10/15 minutes then remove with warm water, despite all the drying and cracking the mask removes easily with a wet flannel. After drying my face, I immediately noticed how smooth my skin felt, and how much brighter my complexion looked. No drying or tightness here, oh no just really smooth soft skin, that looked brighter even after the first use. I also found it kept the oiliness at bay throughout the day when used in the morning, meaning even my makeup looked better.
I have now used the mask a few times and continue to be impressed. Kathleen is a brand I would love to try more from.
Do you love a facemask? If so I recommend you check out this new range from Kathleen.
