This year is the year we had earmarked for home renovations, of course this pandemic has put a bit of a spanner in the works. We have also had delays on securing our funding but everything is now going in the right direction and we are hoping to get work started in the next few months.
We are starting with our family bathroom , then onto the mammoth job of our kitchen. Let me set the scene, we have a pokey, dated 90's kitchen and a separate dining room, the plan is to knock through creating one larger kitchen/diner space.
We are using this opportunity to create the kitchen of my dreams, a light bright clean space, free of clutter and with plenty of storage.
The plan is for a U shaped kitchen including a small island with seating for two. I've always wanted a white gloss kitchen, with hidden integrated appliances, for a clean look. I'll be adding a black tap, oven and hob for a monochromatic style, with a touch of grey with the bar stools.
I will have two windows in this room to dress, the dining room end, at the front of the house will be white wooden blinds from Make my blinds*, I have them in the other rooms at the front of the house and would like to create a uniform look. The kitchen window is at the back and over looks the garden, as yet I'm not sure whether to go for another wooden blind or to add in a bit of colour and pattern with a roman blind. What would you do?
I am dying to get started, let me know in the comments, great places to order kitchen accessories from, I'm talking small appliances like kettles, toasters, plus food storage, canisters and jars and decorative items.
