Kate's Closet: Kitchen renovation reveal

I'm starting off the New Year, with sharing my long awaited kitchen renovation. When I say long awaited, I have lived in my house since 2006, but with the ups and downs of life, 2020 became renovation year for the kitchen and what a year to renovate, the pandemic itself played its part in further delays, meaning the kitchen was finally completed on 21st December, its been a roller coaster but when we spend time in our new room, it makes it worth the delays, and the stress of living in a building site for a couple of weeks.

The kitchen is now larger, lighter, spacious and a joy to be in. Our builder, took the wall between the kitchen and dining space down to create a much more practical use of the space, white units, light walls and wood floors also had to the airy feel of the room.

When it came to choosing a kitchen I new I wanted white gloss units, and for us Howdens Clerkenwell white gloss range fit the bill perfectly. The units are high quality and are delivered ready assembled. The planning process was seamless with our kitchen designer getting us and what we wanted, which made the process painless. Howdens also supplied the white marble effect worktop, white granite composite sink, black tap and chevron flooring. They even helped us find our fab builder through their network of trusted builders.

After Before

As you can see the transformation is huge, the old kitchen was depilated, dated and not practical.

The building process from the removal of the wall and the old kitchen on the first day, to the kitchen being completed was 16 days, and the room definitely got worse before it got better.

The room underwent huge changes, including electrical work, plumbing and plastering as well as fitting the new units, worktops, appliances, flooring and tiles.
